  • The Governor Speaks
    Dec 10, 2008 "Whether you tape me privately or publicly, I can tell you that whatever I say is always lawful and the things I'm interested in are always lawful."

    On an another call he told "adviser A": "I've got this thing and it's [expletive] golden and, uh, uh, I'm not just giving it up for nothing. I'm not gonna do it. And, and I can always use it. I can parachute me there."

    After quoting from the Rudyard Kipling poem "If", Mr Blagojevich said: "There are some powerful forces arrayed against me. It's kind of lonely right now." "But I have on my side the most powerful ally there is, and it's the truth."

    "I will fight. I will fight. I will fight until I take my last breath," Blagojevich said in a Dec. 19 press conference in Chicago -- his first public statement since his arrest.

    "They're not willing to give me anything except appreciation. (Expletive) them," Blagojevich told Harris in an intercepted call Nov. 11.

    "I can drive a hard bargain. You hear what I'm saying. And if I don't get what I want and I'm not satisfied with it, then I'll just take the Senate seat myself," the governor allegedly said of filling the US Senate seat, speaking with a person...

Blagojevich Closing/ Theatrical yes but disconnected

Sam Adam Jr. gave, as expected, a Theatrical Closing

I found the closing, while entertaining, disconnected, peppered with false claims that brought sustained objections and with phrases like (please note, as only Sam Adam can deliver):

  • "Give me a break"
  • "It's true -that's what happened and YOU know it"
  • "That man wasn't extorting anybody - wasn't bribing anybody"
  • "Who ae we kidding?"
  • "I know I'm all over the place, I don't think like normal people"
  • "C'mon"

And truly, just read Eric Zorn's "You really shoulda seen it"  because if you really didn't see it, his column is the next best thing.
